At Alpha Gamma Sigma, our purpose is to foster, promote, maintain, and recognize scholarship. The goals of the Alpha Phi Chapter at El Camino College are to encourage members to pursue their academics while also being involved on campus/in the community. As a chapter, we want to provide an environment for members to be surrounded by like-minded individuals where they can develop their leadership skills that will benefit them later on in their academic and career goals. We hope that you’ll join our Alpha Phi Chapter and become an active member to our society, campus, and surrounding community.
Alpha Phi’s Impact on the Community
For the 2018-2019 academic year, the Alpha Phi Chapter partnered with Peace Over Violence, a local Los Angeles non-profit, to raise funds for POV’s services and to advocate against sexual violence on college campuses. POV was established in 1971 to advocate protection and rehabilitation against sexual and domestic violence, intimate partner stalking, child abuse and youth violence. POV’s local LA headquarters offers innovative programs that are comprehensive and include emergency, intervention, prevention, education and advocacy services. POV offers services in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
Together, we will stand by survivors to create change.
