GENERAL MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

Applications are due by April 5th @11:59 PM for the SPRING 2024 SEMESTER.

Applications are required from new and returning AGS members; must be filled out EVERY semester.

TYPES OF GENERAL MEMBERSHIPS

Blue Membership:

Must earn 10 service points each semester to remain active.

Silver Membership:

Must earn 5 service points each semester to remain active.

You are eligible for this membership if you:

– Work 30+ hours per week or
– Take 16+ units

*Members must show proof to be eligible for silver membership*


REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL MEMBERSHIPS

Continuing El Camino Students

3.0 or greater GPA in a minimum of 12 units over the last two years in college

First Semester Students (High School Graduates)

3.5 or greater GPA

(cumulative and unweighted)

**Students who have a Life Membership in the California
Scholarship Federation
are also eligible**


WHAT SHOULD I INCLUDE IN MY GENERAL APPLICATION PACKET?

Blue Members:
  1. Filled out General Membership Application (can be found toward the bottom of this page)
  2. Unofficial Student Transcript with cumulative GPA (for continuing ECC students and recent high school graduates) or CSF Proof of Life membership (for recent high school graduates ONLY).
  3. Proof of Financial Aid (if applicable); this is for dues.
Silver Members:
  1. Filled out General Membership Application (can be found toward the bottom of this page)
  2. Unofficial Student Transcript with cumulative GPA (for continuing ECC students and recent high school graduates) or CSF Proof of Life membership (for recent high school graduates ONLY).
  3. Proof of Financial Aid (if applicable); this is for dues.
  4. Proof of Hours Worked (30+ per week), or Proof of Units (16+)

TRANSCRIPT

Continuing ECC students: attach a copy of your unofficial El Camino student transcript. Must show cumulative GPA.

Recent High School Graduates: attach a copy of your unofficial high school transcript with your cumulative GPA, or CSF proof of life membership.

Returning and new members are required to submit their unofficial transcripts.


SEMESTER DUES

Monetary dues as of Fall 2023. Dues will only be accepted in cash before or after general meetings (you will receive a receipt). Dues will be accepted after everyone’s acceptance/rejection emails are sent out. You will be notified.

Blue Members: Dues are $20 for blue members or $10 with proof of financial aid.

Silver Members: Dues are $40 for silver members or $20 with proof of financial aid.

**Proof of Financial Aid should be sent in with the Application Packet. However, if you feel more comfortable, you may show your Proof of Financial Aid to the Advisor.**


MAINTAINING AGS MEMBERSHIP

During the semester, general members must earn service points to maintain membership in Alpha Phi.

There are 3 categories to complete:

CAMPUS

Participate in activities on campus. Bring an item, such as a flyer, receipt, etc, or take a photo of you there for proof of participation. Events hosted by ICC and ASO are also considered.

CLUB

Attend AGS general meetings and events.

COMMUNITY

Volunteer in the community. Use the second page provided with the point sheet and get the contact information and signature from the advisor of the event. 1 point per hour.

Blue Members

Blue members must earn 10 service points.

Break Down of Points:

3 points from Campus events, 3 points from Club events, 3 points from Community events, and 1 final point from either of the three categories.

Silver Members

Silver members must earn 5 service points.

Break Down of Points:

1 point from Campus events, 1 point from Club events, 1 point from Community events, and 2 points from either of the three categories.
